SCY Paddy Pre-Cleaner

SCY Paddy Pre-Cleaner

A rotary drum-type grain pre-cleaner designed to remove stalks, clods and other oversized foreign materials before paddy enters downstream cleaning, drying or storage processes, helping protect equipment and improve processing efficiency.

What Is an SCY Paddy Pre-Cleaner?

The SCY Paddy Pre-Cleaner is a rotary drum-type coarse-cleaning machine for paddy and other technically confirmed grains. It is normally installed at grain receiving, before drying, before storage or at the first stage of a rice-milling line. It removes oversized impurities such as stalks, leaves, clods, string, large husk pieces and other foreign material that can block or damage downstream equipment.

The machine is designed for coarse pre-cleaning, not complete grain cleaning. Its screen-cylinder aperture, throughput and optional magnetic or aspiration components must be selected for the actual material and impurity condition. A destoner is still needed where stones or heavy mineral impurities may be similar in size to the grain.

Key Features

Rotary Drum Pre-Cleaning

The rotating screen cylinder continuously separates oversized impurities from the grain flow.

Protection of Downstream Equipment

Early removal of stalks, string and clods helps reduce blockages and protects conveyors, elevators, dryers and processing equipment.

Selected Screen Aperture

The screen-cylinder opening is selected according to the grain size, impurity condition and required cleaning result.

Stable Material Flow

The drum angle, rotation and feeding arrangement support continuous grain movement through the machine.

Optional Magnet and Aspiration

The SCY can be combined with magnetic separation and aspiration when the project requires metal, dust or light-impurity removal.

Flexible System Integration

Fixed or project-specific configurations can be integrated into grain receiving, drying, silo storage and rice-milling lines.

How the SCY Paddy Pre-Cleaner Works

Grain enters the rotating screen cylinder through the feed inlet. Material smaller than the selected screen opening passes through the cylinder and moves toward the clean-grain outlet.

Stalks, clods, string and other oversized impurities remain inside the drum and travel toward the coarse-reject outlet.

Optional magnetic and aspiration equipment can be added according to the required cleaning process.

Process Flow:

Grain Receiving → Rotary Drum Screening → Coarse Impurity Removal → Clean Grain Discharge

Typical Applications

The SCY Paddy Pre-Cleaner can be installed in:

  • Paddy and grain receiving systems
  • Grain drying plants
  • Silo intake and storage systems
  • Rice mills
  • Corn, wheat and soybean processing lines
  • Seasonal or temporary grain receiving points

Typical System Flow

Grain Receiving → SCY Coarse Pre-Cleaning → Fine Screening → Destoning → Drying, Storage or Processing

The SCY is mainly a coarse pre-cleaner. Complete grain cleaning may also require a vibrating cleaner, aspiration system, magnetic separator or destoner.

FAQ

Is the SCY a complete grain cleaner?

No. It is primarily designed to remove large and long impurities. Fine screening, stone removal and dust separation may require additional equipment.

Can it be installed before a paddy dryer?

Yes. The SCY can remove coarse impurities before grain enters the buffer bin or dryer. Its capacity should match the receiving rate and dryer throughput.

Can the SCY process grains other than paddy?

Yes. It can potentially process corn, wheat, soybean, sorghum and other compatible grains with the correct screen-cylinder configuration.

Does it remove stones?

It can remove oversized stone or brick fragments that are larger than the screen openings. A destoner is required for stones similar in size to the grain.

Can it include aspiration and magnetic separation?

Yes. Aspiration and magnetic separation can be included or connected according to the project requirements and confirmed equipment scope.

How is the correct model selected?

Selection is based on grain type, required capacity, moisture, coarse-impurity load, screen aperture, installation space and downstream equipment.
